Our Story

Benchmark Data Solutions is based in Calgary, Alberta. The company was founded in 1998, committed right from the outset to providing their clients with the finest products and service available. Benchmark’s communication packages are designed with our customers’ needs in mind.

We’ve always been proud of our quality equipment and customer service. We also have more experience than any other company in the industry and are always confident that we can meet your company’s requirements. Custom communication hardware and/or software purchases and full communication packages are always available, with no long-term contracts required. All our communication systems are tested prior to delivery. However, we do offer 24-hour hardware support and a same day hardware replacement guarantee, if required. Benchmark Data Solutions not only continues to provide the same consistent level of service, but we’ve also expanded into custom software ordering. In addition, we are continually researching the very latest technologies in wireless communications in order to better serve our customers.

President Bevan Hoynick joined the oil and gas industry in 1990 and began working for various oil field services companies. In 1998, he graduated from Vermilion College with a Bachelor of Applied Science, majoring in Environmental Studies. Bevan then began working in environmental consulting, focusing on the drilling industry, before becoming president of Benchmark Data Solutions in 2002. As president, Bevan brings over five years of experience in environmental consulting, combined with fifteen years in the oil and gas industry. Bevan’s wealth of experience allows him to diversify, yet continue to serve the industry with the level of excellence clients have come to expect.

Finally, we also understand that business in the remote Canadian landscape isn’t as simple as most places. Long-term, rigid contracts simply aren’t possible for many of our most valued customers. Because of that, we’ll never force you into a long-term deal you can’t get out of. Our no long-term contract approach to communications truly puts our customers and their needs first.
